Teaching Assistant in Bournemouth - 1-1 Support

*** 1-1 Teaching Assistants Required in Bournemouth to support pupils with behaviour needs***

Teaching Personnel are working with a Pupil Referral Unit in Bournemouth, seeking Teaching Assistants to join their team immediately and in September. The school is a Secondary School catering for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education. This includes pupils who have been temporarily and permanently excluded, pupils with additional SEN needs such as ADHD, SEMH and Autism, pupils with medical needs and pupils with anxiety.

You will be working on a 1-1 basis, supporting an individual pupil with their education. Your responsibilities will include:

• liaising with the class teacher regarding the work set and progress made
• managing behaviour and setting expectations for the pupil
• building rapport with the pupil and encouraging them to engage in their work

Many of the pupils are working outside of the school setting, so you would be expected to transport the pupil - usually to a library or learning zone. You must drive and have access to a car.

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for confident, resilient individuals who will be comfortable supporting challenging behaviour. Experience in a school setting isn't required, however some form or relevant experience would be needed, such as; youth work, sports coaching, care, tutoring.
