Cover Supervisor

Location: Ormskirk & surrounding areas
Sector: Secondary Education (Ages 11–16)

Are you an experienced educator looking to support teaching and learning across a variety of secondary schools? We are seeking confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across schools in Ormskirk and surrounding areas.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the classroom teacher. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy varied work, thrive in different school environments, and can build positive relationships with students aged 11–16.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑prepared lessons to KS3 and KS4 students across multiple subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support and engage students of mixed abilities, including those with SEN
  • Follow school policies and uphold safeguarding standards
  • Adapt activities and instructions to meet the needs of all learners

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working in an educational setting (school, tutoring, youth work, coaching, teaching assistant, etc.)
  • Confidence delivering lessons to secondary-aged learners (11–16)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching materials and approaches for students with varying needs
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work across different schools
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
