We understand the current uncertainty with COVID19 and the schools currently being closed to all pupils, however due to our excellent relationship with our client schools, one of our partner Primary Schools have asked us to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to join them in September to support a pupil who display challenging behaviour. The role will run until July 2021.

The school

The school is a Values school - Values Education lies at the heart of their Behaviour Policy. It provides a solid foundation enabling their pupils to make informed choices by reflecting, thinking and understanding. It also gives a common vocabulary, which they understand, helping to deal with behavioural and emotional issues in a positive and supportive manner. Through a Values-based Education, a positive culture for teaching and learning is created which is based upon valuing everyone in the school and the environment.

The school have a strong emphasis on supporting and safeguarding children with mental health and trauma within the classroom.

The role

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a team of supportive staff within their Infant Trauma and Mental Health Unit to support a pupil with challenging behaviour and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health).

They currently have 5 pupils within the class that require the full time support, the role can be challenging so the school are looking for someone who ideally has previous experience working with children who have SEN or challenging behaviour, this can also be as a sports coach or with experience working in the care sector.

The successful candidate will also need to be patient, caring and resilient and be able to support the pupils on an academic level.

The role is full time and the school working hours are 8:45-3:15 with a half hour lunch break.

Minimum daily rate is GBP10.50 per hour.
