Job description

Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in South Manchester

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants with relevant undergraduate degrees in any subject who are looking to gain experience of working within secondary schools as a Teaching Assistant. Teaching Personnel have a number of on-going roles (both full-time and part-time) available for now and in September at the start of the new academic year. This is a good opportunity for any graduates who are thinking about going on to pursue a career within education and will want to complete a PGCE. School look favorably upon trainee teachers who have already gained some experience within a classroom and so will provide you with the advantage over other applicants who have not.

Teaching Assistants need to be proactive and enthusiastic people, with the ability to build strong professional relationships quickly and to ‘hit the ground running’ in new jobs, picking up new skills quickly along the way. As a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for working with students either in a one to one or small group setting, helping them with their work in a variety of subject (primarily with the literacy and numeracy skills), ensuring that they are able to understand and complete all their work in a timely fashion. Some of the students will have SEN requirements, and so anybody with experience in helping in this area would find themselves in a strong position to help out.

  • Pay: £385 - £425 per week depending on experience
  • Full-time and part-time roles available
  • Schools based in South Manchester (including Stockport and Trafford)
  • Graduates in any subject encouraged to apply

The schools Teaching Personnel work with are a range of Ofsted Good and Outstanding schools in South Manchester (including Stockport and Trafford), with most school being very close to public transport links providing easy access in the morning. Our partner schools are all very supportive and help to ensure that each staff member feels as though they have the tools they need each day in order to succeed.

If you are interested in working as a Teaching Assistant for Teaching Personnel, whether you have a couple days a week availability, or full-time availability, we would like to hear from you. Please attach a CV as a file below in order to be contact by someone from Teaching Personnel to discuss the registration process and to find you work within schools as quickly as possible.
