Location – Cardiff

Pay – £83.85 -£90 per day

Hours – Monday to Friday (8:30am -3:30pm)

Start Date – ASAP (Pending Vetting Requirements)

Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit Final Year Students who are set to qualify in the summer and looking for Teaching Assistant work / Primary Teaching work in September 2024. The opportunities we can provide will be working across a range of Primary Schools in the centre of Cardiff. At Teaching Personnel, we specialise in recruiting candidates for staffing requirements in schools, whether that be for long-term positions or short-term cover. This would be a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience, improve confidence and we can also help with finding a permanent teaching role in a primary school for the new Academic Year.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate for the role will be ambitious and hardworking, with the opportunity to gain experience in a range of classes and age groups to gain further experience and knowledge. Developing professional relationships with the children and staff is required, to ensure pupils are progressing as expected and learning in a positive environment. General classroom support will be expected, along with supporting small groups of children to assist with learning.

There may also be a chance to work as an unqualified teacher in certain schools in the summer term. Confidence in leading the class effectively will be needed, as well as good knowledge of the school’s curriculum to ensure the lesson fits the needs of the children.  Some schools will also have pupils in the class with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and there may be instances dealing with challenging behaviour in the class.  The school will provide continuous support and feedback, with the possibility to extend positions into the new Academic Year starting September 2024.

Requirement Criteria:

  • Enhanced DBS (child only) checks must be complete before the role will commence.
  • EWC registration – mandatory requirement in Wales.
  • References x2 from PGCE placements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
