Teaching Assistant - Barnsley

Teaching Personnel are looking for a flexible candidate that is willing to support school staff and pupils with supply work - both short term and long term.

The school is based in Barnsley but has several sites spanning across Kirklees and Leeds, you will not be asked to travel between sites but the opportunity to move would be available. You will assist other staff in creating and implementing risk assessment and you will identify and address the needs of pupils that require additional support. You will be working with students with a range of complex needs such as Autism, ADHD, visual impairments and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs so resilience in what could be quite a challenging role is required.

The right candidate will be open minded, non-judgemental and empathetic towards the students, some of which come from LAC and disadvantaged backgrounds. They display challenging behaviours and need a tailored approach to help them to overcome their academic obstacles.

We are looking for someone:

• With a strong and resilient personality in what can be a very challenging role
• Who has the passion and desire to have a positive impact on a pupil with behavioural and emotional needs
• Who is able to work with a pupil 1:1 or in a group setting
