A small Bolton based secondary school is seeking to appoint a dynamic Teacher of Physics on a full-time basis from January 2020 or earlier due to a member permanent staff set to take maternity leave.

The Headteacher and Head of Science wishes to appoint a skilled practitioner, with the passion and subject knowledge required to continue promoting outstanding teaching and learning.   • Full-time Teacher of Physics required from January 2020 or earlier, fixed term maternity leave.
  • Must hold QTS alongside a relevant degree level qualification within physics.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Easily accessible via the M61 motorway.
  • Applications are urged from both experienced and newly qualified teachers as relevant support will be provided for the successful post-holder.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £24, 373 - £40, 490.

The Science department has recently seen a full refurbishment including several new state of the art laboratories for practical sessions with access to modern resources, a large fully equipped prep room and open plan learning spaces. The responsibilities for the successful Teacher of Physics will include but may not be limited to.

  • Plan, resource and deliver dynamic Science lessons to the highest standard, ensuring pupils have the tools required to make rapid sustainable progress.
  • Plan and prepare effective teaching schemes and lessons in line with national curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Use regular assessments in order to assess and set targets for pupils to monitor progress and respond accordingly.

This diverse Bolton Secondary school has just over 800 pupils enrolled, aged 11-16 and has continued to develop under the dedicated guidance of its Senior Leadership Team. Each member of staff has contributed towards the success of not only the school but all their pupils, across the subject board, age ranges and abilities.

Located just a few miles from the town centre, this diverse secondary school, is ideally situated to be accessed via the M61 as well as the surrounding areas; Bury, Preston and Wigan. There are also excellent public transport links readily available with access across Greater Manchester.
