Teacher of DT - Resistant Materials/Graphics
Permanent, Full-time
Start: September 2021 or before
Salary: GBP25,714 - GBP41,604 per annum (Teachers' Main/Upper Pay Scale)
Key Stage: KS3/KS4
Location: Eastbourne

Our partner school in Eastbourne are looking to appoint an imaginative and skilled Teacher of Design and Technology who is committed to the schools vision and virtues and driven by the desire to improve the life chances of young people.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in high quality design, engineering and technology education. The department strongly believes Design and Technology is a practical and valuable subject. It enables children and young people to actively contribute to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of themselves and their community. Students learn to design and make products that solve genuine, relevant problems within different contexts whilst considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. To do this effectively, they will acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on additional disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art.
Ideally you will:
- have a proven track record of teaching Design Technology/Resistant Materials at KS3 and KS4 or experience of this during their training year
- have a passion for the subject and the ability to inspire our students
- be an excellent classroom teacher who can challenge all our learners to achieve their very best
- have relevant qualifications and experience, including a DfE recognised teaching qualification, or be working towards this in time for September 2021
- be an innovative teacher, focused on raising attainment
- have the ability to offer another DT subject, e.g. Food Technology, Graphics, Textiles or something new, would be an advantage
