Teacher of Design and Technology for January 2020

For January 2020 our gosport based client school is looking to appoing a Teacher of Design and Technology. The school is looking for a well skilled practitioner who is extremely motivated to drive excellence of teaching and learning through approaches to pedagogy that promotes an all inclusive education for all. If you have drive and commitment to raise the bar for every student, have a strong interest in closing the education gap been high and low achieving students and are a teacher who is keen to positivity contribute towards the wider school community then you are encouraged to apply for the role.

The belief of the school is that a strong, varied and challenging curriculum not only opens up the minds of their young people to becoming life-long learners, but creates a culture of excellence. Within Design and Technology department, students have opportunity to participate in Art, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Product Design, Electronics and Textiles. They are looking for a teacher who is adaptable and experienced in one or more of these curriculum areas and/or show a willingness to upskills themselves to honour the schools commitment to their students of a varied curriculum. Currently, all students at KS4 must opt for a technology subject at GCSE.

The school are looking for someone who posses the following qualities:

  • In depth knowledge of their subject who uses innovative approaches to their pedagogy to ensure all learners benefit from excellent Teaching
  • Endless enthusiasm and patience
  • A reflective practitioner who strives for excellence from all of their students and is passionate about improving the educational outcomes for individual students
  • Flexible and adaptable to be able to differentiate effectively to provide an inclusive education for all
  • Driven to improve the quality of teaching across the entire department and can effectively contribute to the continual professional development of their colleagues on inset days as well as being pro active about their own CPD
  • Is a teacher who is inspiring to students and staff alike and can positively generate a love for the subject demonstrating the value of the subject and skills developed in the real world
