Job description

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants Required 

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon and Streatham
Start Date: April 2026
 
We are currently working with a range of welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary schools across Thornton Heath, Croydon and Streatham.
They are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams for the upcoming new term. 
 
These are full-time roles starting at the end of April 2026, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of children with additional needs.
 
Who we’re looking for:
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have previous experience supporting children with special educational needs.
We are also keen on graduates in Psychology or Criminology who are looking to gain valuable experience in education.
 
Ideal qualities for these roles:
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • A good understanding of SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A genuine interest in helping children thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
