Location: Twickenham

Role: Support Worker working 1:1 and in small groups in classes with special educational needs

Duration: Immediate start Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:00pm till July 2020 and permanent contract offer opportunities available

Pay: GBP65 - 75 per day (paid on a weekly basis)

Children with special educational needs thrive from having confident and hard working staff with an in-depth and open understanding of care. We are currently recruiting Support Workers to work in a recently opened school in Twickenham with secondary students diagnosed with a special educational need. Pupils have a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties and additional learning needs such as dyslexia.

The school are looking for support workers or those with experience who are:

  • Open and confident working in schools with young people aged 11-16  diagnosed with autism , behavioural needs and speech and language difficulties
  • Dedicated and consistent as building and maintaining positive relationships within the school is vital
  • Additional training such as Team Teach  (positive handling) is highly beneficial but not essential as training can be provided

There are two support worker roles available till July 2020 with permanent opportunities available for those who would like to continue in the school. Hours are 8:30-4:00pm Monday to Fridays during school term time with weekly pay.

  • Local transport links – 10 mins from Twickenham Station (South Western Railway) and local buses 281 and H20

Essential criteria: Support Worker background or experience working with children/young people with autism, speech and language, behavioural needs

Desirable criteria:  Team Teach or positive handling training
