Teaching Personnel are currently working with a large secondary school within the Kent area who are looking to employ a cover supervisor to work within their School on a day to day basis come September 2020 (or when School re-opens)
I am seeking flexible Cover Supervisors who are looking for or can commit to flexible/ supply positions. This school in particular can request hourly cover throughout the school day. Teaching Personnel also support schools with filling longer term roles as well as supplying them with day to day cover staff.
Cover supervisors are suitably-trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. The role should not require any active teaching, marking or planning.
Duties may include:
- supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
- managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment
- responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures
- dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures
- collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
- reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
Skills and experience you'll need:
- good communications skills
- to be highly flexible
- to enjoy working with young people
Benefits of working with Teaching Personnel:

- No Fees - We make it easy for our teachers to transition from us to a contract with a school because we do not charge the schools any fees to take you onto contract!
- Flexibility - One extremely useful benefit of securing your long term role through us is that it allows you to go into a school and decide whether it is the right one for you before fully committing to the entire academic year
- Refer a Friend Scheme - financial benefits for every friend that joins us
- Weekly Pay - you will be paid weekly directly into your bank account
- Pension Scheme
I am looking to recruit for September starts, so either contact Ryan Kirk on 0115 845 6408 or submit a CV/covering letter via the "apply now" link.
