Job description
Supply Teacher – Durham Schools ASAP start, all subjects, all experience levels considered.
Teaching Personnel is recruiting supply teachers for schools across Durham, with work available immediately. These positions cover a range of settings — primary, secondary, mainstream, and SEND — and are open to teachers across all subjects and experience levels, including those newly qualified.
Day-to-day supply is a flexible option that allows you to build familiarity with a variety of Durham schools, with the potential for longer-term bookings as relationships develop. Schools across the region are actively looking for reliable, classroom-ready teachers who can step in and maintain a positive learning environment at short notice.
What you'll be doing:
- Covering planned and unplanned absences across Durham schools
- Delivering pre-set lesson plans or using your own initiative when required
- Managing classrooms effectively and maintaining high expectations
- Building familiarity with local schools over time
You'll need:
- QTS or equivalent
- Confidence and adaptability in the classroom
- Strong communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
