Job description

Maths Teacher – Durham Secondary School

ASAP start, full-time, competitive salary (MPS/UPS).

I'm recruiting a Maths Teacher for a Durham secondary school and they need someone to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time position teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4 in a supportive school with a strong Maths department.

The school has good behaviour systems, excellent resources, and leadership that backs their staff. If you're a Maths teacher looking for a new opportunity where you can actually focus on teaching without constant disruption, this could be a great fit.

What you'll be doing:

  • Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Assessing student progress and providing feedback
  • Working collaboratively with the Maths department
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Contributing to the wider school community

You'll need:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Degree in Mathematics or related subject
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (ECTs welcome if you're confident and ready)
  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting students
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)
