STUDENT PROGRESS, ATTENDANCE AND BEHAVIOUR LEAD
Permanent | Full Time | Term Time Only
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and student-focused Student Progress, Attendance and Behaviour Lead to join a dedicated pastoral and inclusion team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive educational outcomes.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in promoting excellent attendance, supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils remain engaged in school life. Working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies, you will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and aspirational learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Student Attendance and Engagement
• Monitor, track and improve pupil attendance and punctuality
• Identify patterns and barriers affecting attendance and engagement
• Develop targeted intervention plans and support strategies
• Work closely with pupils and families to encourage sustained improvement
• Maintain accurate records and reporting processes
Behaviour and Pastoral Support
• Promote high standards of behaviour and positive learning habits
• Support students experiencing behavioural, emotional or engagement challenges
• Coordinate interventions to improve participation and wellbeing
• Provide restorative and solution-focused support approaches
• Contribute to creating a calm and purposeful school environment
Progress and Inclusion
• Support pupils to achieve their academic and personal goals
• Monitor student progress and identify opportunities for early intervention
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Liaise with external professionals and agencies where appropriate
• Contribute to whole-school strategies that improve outcomes
About You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, pastoral or support setting
• Strong understanding of attendance, behaviour and student welfare practices
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and confidently
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
• Resilience, initiative and a proactive approach
• Commitment to supporting inclusive education and student success

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
