Are you a passionate, patient, and dedicated teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people with special educational needs?

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist secondary provision to recruit an experienced and compassionate SEN Class Teacher for a maternity cover position through to May 2027.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a teacher with experience in either Primary or Secondary education who is committed to supporting pupils with severe and complex learning needs, including autism and associated communication difficulties.

The Role

As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs and help pupils achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils with complex learning difficulties and autism.
  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement.
  • Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families, and external professionals.
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Has experience teaching within Primary and/or Secondary settings.
  • Has a strong understanding of SEND, particularly autism and complex learning needs.
  • Is patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
