Sports Coach Teaching Assistant required in Hull and the East Riding!
Job Type: PE Cover Supervisor & Behaviour Assistant
Salary: Base Rate of Pay: £9 - £10 per hour
Hours: Full-Time or Part Time (temporary through Supply)
Location: West Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Teaching Personnel are the UK's Education Agency Leaders. We support mainstream Primary and Secondary Schools, SEN Provisions and Alternative Provisions. We are experiencing an increasing demand for PE Cover Supervisors to cover for PE teachers and support pupils with challenging behaviour, using sport as a tool for engagement. On a day-to-day and long term basis, sports graduates are in high demand.
There is the opportunity to work as a 1:1 teaching assistant if you're a sports graduate or a qualified sports coach and enjoy working with children with challenging behaviour. 1:1 teaching assistant positions are usually full-time and longer-term and involve building strong relationships with a single pupil with an EHCP in place.
One of Teaching Personnel's clients includes the Consortium Academy Trust, supporting students across Hull and the East Riding. We are seeking to appoint a number of sports experienced and qualified coaches, to work as a PE Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant. We have found that candidates with sports backgrounds also make excellent behavioural assistants, which is why we can offer behavioural work as well as PE.
Because we are PE & SEMH specialists, you will receive an unrivalled professional development programme and we will always be on the end of a phone should you need advice at any time.
The Role:
- Cover day to day bookings and long term positions when regular PE staff are absent, whether this be due to illness or courses.
- To supervise basic games type activities in PE lessons in alternative provisions and secondary schools.
- To cover for general classroom lessons when required (optional).
- 1:1 teaching assistant for pupil with behavioural issues.
- The ability to engage all of the children involved in your lesson.
Responsibilities:
- To complete a trial day at the School, in order to be inducted.
- Commit yourself to the ongoing professional development of your skills and knowledge.
- To be person centred in all aspects of your role.
Benefits:
- Unrivalled professional development courses, such as Child Psychology, Autism Awareness, NASEN and Team Teach.
- Relevant, well-paid experience for under-graduates from £9 per hour.
- An ideal opportunity for PGCE and graduates to gain invaluable experience.
- Recommend a Friend Bonus of £50 per referral*
