SEN Teaching Assistant - Bradford

  • Experience of supporting pupils on a 1:1 or group basis
  • Evidence of de-escalating challenging behaviour
  • Competitive pay rates of up to £75 per day

An Outstanding (Ofsted 2016) Special School in Bradford are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for a role this September. You will be working with small groups of pupils with additional needs to access a differentiated curriculum. All pupils in school have an Education, Health and Care Plan (ECHP) to support staff in meeting their needs.

Located on the outskirts of Bradford, the school benefits from local transport links and is easily accessible from Leeds and Skipton, as well as the surrounding areas.

Pupils are aged 3-16, and have a range of additional needs including Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Conditions, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

Your role will be to provide targeted intervention for pupils within the secondary base (KS3 & KS4) who may display aggression and exhibit challenging behaviour. These behaviour needs are secondary to the pupils SEN diagnoses of Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), so an understanding of the underlying issues is paramount. You will be calm and resilient and may also possess a valid Team Teach certificate or equivalent BILD accredited training (e.g. MAPA).

With over 20 years solely focused on education recruitment, Teaching Personnel are well placed to offer you a diverse range of work in a variety of settings. Our CPD Academy, national branch network, competitive rates of pay and highly trained consultants all contribute to us being recognised as the quality, leading experts of education recruitment.
