Job description

Teaching personnel are working alongside a client school based in Lambeth who are seeking an enthusiastic SLCN specialist to join their team.

The Ofsted graded "good" 2 form entry primary school require specialist TAs to work with EAL / SEN pupils who have Speech, Language and Communication needs. Some challenging behaviour may be present so an understanding of how to approach and deal with these situations would be beneficial.

If you have Team Teach, MAPA or other "restraint and de-escalation" training this is a further benefit as some of the children in these settings can present extreme behaviour.

Ideally you will:

  • Have experience working in SEN provision or with SLCN pupils
  • Are comfortable with PECS, Makaton, BSL or other methods of communication
  • Possess a Team Teach or equivalent certificate
  • Provide a minimum of 2 references to cover the last 2 years and have a DBS on the update service * Are available immediately for interviews / observations
  • Be able to work as part of a team and support the ethos of a school

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
