The site team work on rotating shifts, 0600-1400 and 1000-1800. It is contracted at 37 hours a week so there is a 36 minute break each day. The idea would be to work alongside our Site Supervisor for the first week to learn the ropes and then adopt the shift pattern.
You will be joining an average sized, and oversubscribed secondary school, in the leafy surroundings in the South of Preston. The school is near major public transport links and easily accessible links from the motorways.
The role:
- Carrying out day-to-day maintenance.
- Booking outside contractors for major repair work
- Making sure that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
- Making sure that doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
- Checking the premises to guard against vandalism or break-ins
- Opening up the building in the morning and locking it at the end of the day
- Arranging chairs and tables for meetings and clearing away afterwards
- Ordering materials & new equipment
- Taking bookings if rooms in the building are available for hire.
