Job Title: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo)

Location: Northampton
Contract: Full time - permanent
Salary: £39,000- £45,000

About the Role

We are working with a welcoming, inclusive primary school where every child is known, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. We are seeking a committed and compassionate SENDco to lead and further develop our SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support and positive outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SENDCo or an aspiring leader with a strong commitment to inclusive practice and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND code of practice

• Identify, assess, and support pupils with SEND, ensuring individual needs are met

• Develop and review EHCPs and provision maps

• Work closely with class teachers to promote inclusive, high-quality teaching

• Liaise effectively with parents/carers, external agencies, and professionals

• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions and provision

• Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with statutory requirements

• Contribute to whole-school improvement and safeguarding practices

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have a strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice

• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills

• Be empathetic, reflective, and passionate about your role

• Be able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive leadership team
