SEND Teaching Assistants Wanted – September Start
Location: Wigan & Surrounding Areas
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Part-Time, Day-to-Day, Short & Long-Term Placements
Pay: Competitive daily rates depending on experience

Are you a passionate, patient, and dedicated individual with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Whether you’re looking for a fresh start, a more flexible role, or a chance to make a real difference in children's lives – Teaching Personnel is here to support you.

We are currently recruiting reliable and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of primary schools across Wigan and the surrounding areas, with positions available from September 2025. You will play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs thrive in a supportive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or community settings).
  • A nurturing and proactive approach to learning support.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE, or similar) are beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
