Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant – EYFS
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Whelley, Wigan (WN1)
Pay Rate: £89.44 – £100 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with the possibility of a permanent role)
A vibrant and welcoming primary school located in the heart of Whelley, Wigan, is looking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team from September 2025. The school is celebrated for its strong community ethos, nurturing environment, and commitment to ensuring that every child receives the best possible start in their educational journey.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about early years education and thrives in a hands-on, play-based learning environment. You will be working in a well-resourced setting alongside experienced staff who prioritise child development, curiosity, and inclusive practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through engaging and imaginative activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help children reach developmental milestones.
- Encourage children’s personal, social, and emotional growth through consistent routines and positive reinforcement
- Assist in planning, observing, and recording pupil progress in line with EYFS expectations.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, EYFS lead, SENCO, and parents/carers.
Essential Criteria:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g., CACHE Diploma in Early Years Education or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in an EYFS setting such as nursery, preschool, or Reception.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development.
- Positive, calm, and nurturing attitude.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Desirable:
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive practice within an EYFS setting.
