Role: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Prescot (L34)

Schedule: Flexible

Start Date: September 2025

Pay Rate: £13.75 to £14.50 per hour

 

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our caring and inclusive primary school community. The successful candidate will support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, working closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to provide tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs. This role involves assisting with learning activities, promoting independence, and helping to create a safe, nurturing environment where all children can thrive.

Experience working with children with additional needs is desirable, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to making a positive difference in pupils’ lives. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND are essential for this role.

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Can deliver a calm, empathetic and positive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and continuous professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
