ADHD Teaching Assistant – Southport Primary School
Start Date: October 2025 (Maternity Cover)
Full-time | Ofsted “Good” School | Via Teaching Personnel

Are you a patient, enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a child with ADHD at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southport, rated Good by Ofsted. This is a full-time position to cover a maternity leave, beginning in October 2025.

The Role:

  • One-to-one support for a KS1/KS2 pupil with ADHD

  • Collaborating with class teachers, SENCO and outside professionals

  • Helping the pupil stay focused, regulate emotions and access learning

  • Creating a calm, structured and positive learning environment

  • Supporting social integration and emotional well-being

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting children with ADHD or SEMH needs

  • Calm, consistent and nurturing approach

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills

  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Relevant TA qualifications or training (preferred but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
