Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) – Specialist Primary School (SEND)

Are you passionate about supporting young learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A caring and inclusive primary school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its team on a full-time basis. This role offers the potential to progress from a temporary position to a permanent one.

The school provides a nurturing environment for children aged 2–11, ensuring every pupil feels valued and supported. With a strong focus on early development, academic progress, and social skills, the school helps children achieve their potential and grow into confident, independent learners.


Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND across early years and primary stages, meeting individual learning and personal development needs.
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt resources and strategies for each child.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions to build confidence and independence.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction in and beyond the classroom.
  • Collaborating with staff, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every child.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in an early years or primary setting.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Adaptability and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Effective behaviour management and the ability to maintain a calm, structured environment.
  • A commitment to fostering independence and confidence in pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
