1:1 Teaching Assistant – Individual Support for a Vulnerable Learner
Are you a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference? A rewarding opportunity has become available within an alternative provision setting, supporting a highly vulnerable student with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is a full-time, long-term position ideal for someone who is resilient, nurturing, and committed to helping young people thrive.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver personalised support to a student with significant SEND requirements.
- Help manage emotional and behavioural challenges in a calm, structured manner.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to implement tailored learning strategies.
- Build a trusting relationship that encourages engagement and progress in education.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential: Proven experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those requiring intensive, individualised support.
- A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach to working with vulnerable learners.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A commitment to providing stability and continuity in a full-time, long-term role.

This alternative provision caters to students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. The setting offers a supportive, structured environment with access to:
- Vocational learning spaces including a large workshop and salon.
- Dedicated classrooms for core subjects like Maths and English, all equipped with whiteboards.
- Freshly prepared lunches delivered daily via a mobile food van.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
