Pay: £90 – £100 per day (weekly pay)

The Role

Teaching Personnel are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in partner SEN schools in Barnstaple. These schools support children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, complex needs, and primary/secondary SEN support.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing team, gain valuable classroom experience, and make a real difference to young people’s education and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support students with special educational needs in class and during activities.

• Assist teachers with planning, resources and personalised learning strategies.

• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help learners progress.

• Adapt activities to meet individual needs and encourage engagement.

• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine passion for working with young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD, or complex needs.

• Previous experience in schools, care or youth support (desirable but not essential).

• Strong communication, patience, and resilience.

• Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to complete training.
