SEND Learning Mentor – Exeter, Devon

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day (based on experience) + Expenses

About the School
Teaching Personnel’s partner school in Exeter provides personalised education for students with complex needs, including those with EHCPs. The school uses a trauma-informed approach and offers one-to-one support to help students succeed. The curriculum includes core subjects such as English, mathematics, and science, alongside PSHE and community-based activities to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support for students with SEND within a trauma-informed setting
  • Work closely with teachers to implement and adjust personalised learning plans
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment to support students' emotional and social development
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet diverse learning needs and styles

Candidate Requirements

  • Passion for supporting young people with SEND
  • Experience in education or care (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence and access to own car
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
