Job description

Empower Young Minds – Specialist SEN Tutor Roles in Hedge End

TP Tutors is seeking compassionate and dedicated Specialist SEN Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one support for children and young people in Hedge End and surrounding areas.

Position Details

  • Location: Hedge End and nearby communities
  • Working Pattern: Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Session Type: Face-to-face tuition

About the Role

You will support pupils who may face barriers to education due to Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, or periods of missed education. Through engaging and tailored tuition sessions, you will create a positive learning experience that supports both emotional wellbeing and academic growth.

Main Duties

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one tutoring sessions
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Build learner confidence and encourage engagement
  • Track progress and modify lesson content where required
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Provide a safe, encouraging, and structured environment
  • Travel to student homes or agreed learning locations

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial
  • Suitable for tutors, teachers, mentors, youth workers, or SEN support staff
  • Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Ability to travel within Hedge End and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
