SEN Teaching Assistants - Barnet

About the School

A superb and safe school in a quiet, spacious area in North London is looking for SEN teaching assistants with experience, ideally with behavioural difficulties. The incoming candidate would be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with a young year 8 student, helping him keep up with lesson material and ensuring he is coping well with school life. The school has had investment which can be seen in their modern facilities.

The school aims to serve the Orthodox Jewish Community and wants to build students confidence and understanding to excel in the real world whilst ensuring the values of the Torah are central and respected. The school emphasis equal importance and opportunity to thrive on religious subjects as they do secular.

It was given an Ofsted rating of "outstanding" and a strong leadership to maintain their high standards, they stated:

About the role

SEN Teaching Assistant

Working on a 1:1 basis with a year 8 student

5 days a week

Temporary role with the possibility to take a permanent role

The incoming teacher will be helping the student with day-to-day activities and ensure he can keep up with the lesson content

The ability to speak languages would not be necessary, but it would be beneficial

Location

Is the school near Mill Hill and ideally the candidate would be able to drive or be willing to commute on the bus or underground to Colindale (30 min walk).

Requirements

Experience with SEN children at primary or secondary school (from KS1-KS5)

The role would be working on a 1:1 basis

A kind but with a strong character to deal with difficult behaviour

Ability to speak languages would be welcome, but not necessary

A positive attitude
