A Special School situated in Rochdale are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for an after October 2019 half term start.
The successful candidates will be working directly with pupils with complex additional educational needs, across all key stages. The pupils who attend the School have multiple needs which may include: significant interaction or communication difficulties, profound learning needs, ASC or ASD. In some cases pupils may communicate using alternative methods of communications such as: visual aids and PECS so it would be ideal for applicants to have experience of communicating using these methods of communication. Ideally applicants will have:
- GCSE English and Maths at grade A* - C or an equivalent qualification
- A level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (essential)
- Experience communicating using PECS and visual aids
- PEGS trained ( highly desirable)
- Extensive experience working with pupils with SEN in a professional or professional capacity
The Setting itself is a new build special school which is located close to the centre of Rochdale town centre. The School is self is co-located with a mainstream primary school and the School are looking to met potential Teaching Assistants as soon as possible.
