SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity at a secondary school located on the border of Wigan and Leigh.

  • Full time temporary SEN Teaching Assistant - Initially until January 2019 (Extension likely)
  • Supporting a variety of pupil with SEN across all curriculum areas
  • Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs essential

Our client school located within the Wigan LEA have a number of SEN Teaching Assistant opportunities upcoming within their support team.Due to an increase in SEN pupils on roll, this school wish to appoint a number of SEN Teaching Assistants on a full time basis to support pupils with special education needs.The successful applicant's role as a SEN teaching assistant will involve supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis across all curriculum areas, whilst also providing small group support with a focus on Year 7 and 8 children. Applicants wishing to be considered for this opportunity are required to hold previous secondary school based experience and be keen to influence the development of pupils learning. Previous experience supporting secondary aged pupils with special educational needs such as; ADHD, Autism or Dyslexia is an advantage.

Located a short drive from the East Lancashire road this school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas; Leigh, Wigan, Salford, Chorley and St Helens. The school has onsite parking for those with their own transport and strong public transport links for those without.
