SEN Teaching Assistants required in the North Dorset area

Teaching Personnel are working with a SEN school in North Dorset that are looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team. They currently have a need for staff who can work full time and part time.

Teaching Personnel work with a large number of SEN schools in the Dorset area but this particular school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs including Autism, MLD (mild learning difficulties), PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties), physical disabilities and associated difficulties such as speech and language needs and sensory impairments.

The role of Teaching Assistant will include the following duties:

- Contribution to the management of pupil behaviour

- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with pupils and staff

- Supporting pupils with learning activities

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential you have experience supporting children or adults with special needs. The successful applicant will also be the following:

- Organised

- Calm, patient and empathetic

- Flexible and tolerant

The school is not easily accessed with public transport so it would be beneficial if you could drive. The school has on site parking.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
