Teaching Assistant required for SEMH provision in the Swale area.

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school in the Sittingbourne area that caters for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support within the KS3 division of the school.
Your new role
This school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work across the KS3 group, ages 11 - 14 years old. The role is to start as soon as possible and in the first instance on a supply basis, then with a view to the role been kept on into the New Year.
The main duties within this role will be to help inspire and increase the confidence of the pupils within the classroom environment; students will be studying KS3 curriculum, with an increased focus on the core subjects and catch up sessions from the previous academic year. You will need to be able to engage young people, you need to be able to increase motivation to education and show pupils the value of education. Your main duties will be helping to remove barriers to learning to help promote education with the pupils you work with. Applications are being sought from candidates with experience in the following areas; Primary School settings, youth clubs, sports clubs, community projects/work, aim higher scheme's, PE/dance groups, youth offending teams, outdoor education projects, arts projects, or family support roles, all of the above roles will show transferable skills and experience ensuring the right qualities for this role.
What you'll need to succeed
- A strong academic background or alternatively a strong track record of working with young people or secondary school children
- Experience of working in either a School, College, Alternative Education Provider, or Youth Project
- An engaging and positive individual who is able to interact with secondary aged children with a range of additional needs
- The ability to provide support children who are of varying learning abilities
- Ability to think on your feet, good negotiation skills are imperative in this role
- Team Teach certificate is highly desirable
