Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to get into a supportive school?
We are looking for a full time teaching assistant for a 1 year maternity leave contract. We are seeking someone who loves working with children and has a can do approach. We will provide you a supportive environment with further training opportunities including Diplomas and NVQ's. You will be supporting SEN Pupils who are Secondary aged, we are a residential school, your working hours will be 8.45am-4.45pm Monday to Friday. Our pupils have a range of needs including:
- Severe Learning Difficulties
- Autism
- Aspergers
- Communication difficulties
You will need to be:
- Fun and creative, happy to get involved in messy play and creative subjects
- An excellent communicator
- Someone who can think outside of the box
- Have a resilient personality
- Have some experience working with children previously
Responsibilities of the role involve:
- Supporting Secondary aged pupils who have a range of special educational needs
- Supporting pupils on a 1-1 basis where necessary
- Learning about PECS and Makaton
- Working alongside other staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
- Getting involved in a range of subjects including Art, DT, Outdoor Education, PE and Core Subjects
Ideally you will have experience within a care position or a school previously. Most importantly you will have a willingness to learn and be creative.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
