SEN Teaching Assistant

Our school is looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants based local to Greenford or Sudbury Hill to work across our autism and complex needs department. We provide engaging and creative learning and social development for primary aged children across Ealing and local boroughs with EHCPs and a diagnosis of a special need.

We are looking for SEN teaching assistants confident supporting children 1:1 with autism, severe learning difficulties or complex and profound medical needs. Due to the varied needs across the school with staff self-isolating and additional pupil funding we would need a flexible SEN TA open to working across Early Years to KS2 classes. Children within the classes may be non-verbal, be in wheelchairs or have additional sensory needs so having training or experience using PECS, TEACCH, Makaton, personal care or moving and handling will be highly beneficial.

There are two roles available currently within our school for as of when SEN Teaching Assistants and full-time teaching assistants. As of when staff will either be pre-booked in advance or booked on the day from 7:00-8:15 daily and will be required to be available for a minimum of 3 days between Monday and Friday. Full-time SEN TAs will be required Monday to Fridays within the school. School Hours are 8:30 – 4:00 and all staff are expected to support with pupil arrivals, departures and break times.

  • Autism
  • Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Complex and profound medical needs
  • Cognitive or Developmental disorders
  • Speech and language needs:  Non-verbal/limited speech
  • PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
  • Makaton
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling
  • PEG or tracheostomy feeding
  • Team Teach, Studio 3 or physical intervention

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
