SEN Teaching Assistant 

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

A dedicated and welcoming primary SEN school in Yeovil is looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a setting where your compassion, creativity and resilience will have a real impact on pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

 

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 5–11 both inside and outside the classroom.

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff, your role will involve building positive relationships, encouraging engagement in learning, and supporting pupils to regulate their emotions and behaviour.

Key Qualities We’re Looking For:

  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach

  • Experience working with children with SEN or SEMH needs

  • Ability to build trust and support emotional regulation

  • Team player with strong communication skills

  • Relevant qualifications or training (advantageous but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
