Job description
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Wythenshawe (M22)
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wythenshawe.
This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Implement behaviour management strategies and promote a positive learning environment
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and social development
- Work closely with the SENCo and wider school team to track progress and support development
- Assist with personal care if required (depending on the pupil’s needs)
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. TA, CACHE) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
