SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Swansea and Carmarthenshire
Pay: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of mainstream secondary schools and alternative provisions in Swansea and Carmarthenshire.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs / Additional Learning Needs (SEN/ALN). You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in education.
Whether you have experience in schools, youth work, care, or support roles, this position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs

Support students with emotional, behavioural, and learning challenges
-
Assist teachers in delivering adapted lessons and targeted interventions

Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour in the classroom

Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to help them thrive in education
What We’re Looking For

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
-
EWC registration (or willingness to register)
-
Experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, or support settings
-
A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
