Teaching Assistant – STF Units, Behaviour Support & 1:1 Roles

Position: Teaching Assistant (Primary & ALN settings)

About the Role
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Swansea, supporting pupils in STF units, behaviour support roles, and 1:1 placements.
This is a rewarding role for individuals who are confident, patient, and motivated to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who may face additional challenges in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
-
Working within STF units and alternative provision settings
-
Providing 1:1 support for pupils who require additional guidance
-
Assisting teachers in creating a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
-
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
-
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Suitable Experience & Backgrounds

Teaching Assistants

Coaches or Sports Leaders

Childcare practitioners

Care Workers

Individuals with personal or family experience supporting children

Sports or physical activity backgrounds

Anyone with relevant experience working with children or young people
Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential – the right attitude, resilience and commitment are key.

Ability to work flexibly across different school settings

A genuine passion for supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
