Some roles support learning.
This role transforms it.

We are looking for strong, calm, and compassionate individuals who understand that behaviour is communication and that every child deserves the right support.

In our vibrant and busy primary school, you will work with pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and challenging behaviour — not just to manage situations, but to change outcomes.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • You will work in a large and dynamic primary school where no two days are the same.
  • You will be trusted as a key adult for pupils who need consistency, structure, and belief.
  • You will receive ongoing support from experienced teachers, ALN staff, and senior leaders.
  • You will develop real, transferable expertise in behaviour support and inclusive practice.

 The Pupils You’ll Support

We are specifically seeking candidates with experience in:

Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Attachment and trauma-related needs
  • Sensory processing differences

You will help pupils:

  • Access learning in the classroom
  • Develop emotional regulation skills
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Improve communication and social interaction
  • Feel safe, understood, and supported

Challenging Behaviour Experience

We need individuals who do not take behaviour personally and who understand that behaviour is communication.

You may be supporting pupils who:

  • Experience emotional dysregulation or meltdowns
  • Display disruptive or avoidant behaviour
  • Struggle with transitions and routine changes
  • Use inappropriate language
  • Present with verbal or physical behaviours during heightened moments

You must be able to:

  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Use de-escalation strategies effectively
  • Follow behaviour plans and risk assessments
  • Set firm but fair boundaries
  • Build positive, trusting relationships

Resilience is essential. Empathy is non-negotiable.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants
  • Behaviour Support Workers
  • Youth Workers or Care Workers transitioning into education
  • Individuals with strong character and a nurturing approach
  • Professionals who thrive in busy, structured environments
  • Sports Coaches
  • Psychology background

If you are someone who:

  • Stays calm when others escalate
  • Sees potential where others see problems
  • Wants to genuinely impact children’s futures

We want to hear from you.

What You’ll Gain

  • A supportive and experienced leadership team
  • Opportunities for CPD in ALN and behaviour strategies
  • Real classroom responsibility
  • The chance to build a long-term career in education
  • A role where your presence truly matters
