Behaviour Support Worker:
Teaching Personnel are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a busy and committed team of staff in a school based in St Austell. The right candidate will be happy to support teachers and pupils in a range of ways from 1:1 individual support tailored to the pupil to working with groups of children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs (Team Teach or equivalent training an advantage but not essential and training can be provided). The role is full time and the right candidate will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position depending on their success in the role.
The school we are working with offers a nurturing, safe and non-judgemental space for children who display challenging behaviour. These pupils might be LAC (Looked After Children) or from a disadvantaged background so we need someone who is empathetic and passionate about having a positive affect and contribution to their education and lives. The school is a specialist provision for students that have been excluded from mainstream education. It offers support in academic and vocational subjects, identifying the strengths of the students and working with them to help them to become independent and employable.
This role would particularly suit:
- Teaching Assistants looking for a new challenge
- People with experience working with challenging children
- People who are wanting to gain more experience in assisting mental health challenges
- Candidates with experience working with children or vulnerable people
- If you have a lot to give and want to make a difference to the lives of children with SEN or if you want to expand your experience across a wider age and ability range then this role is for you. Please apply below!
We are also working on lots of other roles that you may be interested in, and we also have lots of day to day supply roles to work on. Please email shannan.ince@teachingpersonnel.com to find out more!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
