Job description

Teaching Assistant – Maternity Cover
Location: Morecambe
Start Date: November 2025 (after October half-term)
Contract: Maternity Cover

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Morecambe who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from November 2025 to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development. The school is looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual who has previous experience working with SEN pupils, particularly supporting children with additional needs in the classroom.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons

  • Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion within the classroom

  • Helping pupils to achieve their personal and academic goals

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (essential)

  • A patient, adaptable and supportive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to making a positive difference in children’s education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
