Job description

Our Primary School is a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking school committed to providing the very best opportunities for every child. We have a strong reputation for nurturing pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and we are now looking for a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.

Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Start Date: As soon as possible

The Role

As a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

-          Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.

-          Deliver tailored interventions and small-group activities to help pupils meet their individual targets.

-          Lead group sessions, teaching and supporting children with additional needs.

-          Provide 1:1 support where required, adapting learning materials and approaches to suit each child’s needs.

-          Promote positive behaviour strategies and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

-          Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers to support children’s progress and wellbeing.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

-          Qualified to Level 3 in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).

-          Experienced in working with children with SEND, ideally within a school setting.

-          Skilled in using a range of strategies and resources to support personalised learning.

-          Patient, resilient, and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

-          An excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
