Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: South East England, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time hours

Salary: £80 - £90 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in classroom settings
  • Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for SEN students
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with SEN students to reinforce learning concepts
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour interventions
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications
  • Additional qualifications in education or special educational needs are desirable

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Training in specific interventions for SEN students

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a school environment, supporting students with SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
