Job Duties:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with special educational needs in a classroom setting. Duties include providing one-on-one assistance, implementing individual education plans, assisting with classroom activities, and helping students develop social and communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

A valid DBS check and a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification are required. Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.

Education:

Minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths. Additional certifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistance are preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of special educational needs, strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team, patience, and empathy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

The role involves working full-time hours on a temporary basis in a school in South East England. The SEN Teaching Assistant will collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support students with special educational needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
