Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students.
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care and medical needs if required.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or experience.
  • Knowledge of SEN and experience working with children with special needs.

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Experience:

Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children with SEN.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN and various learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with special needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher-level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.
  • First Aid training.

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position with Full-Time hours.
  • Work within a school setting, assisting in classrooms and outdoor activities.
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviours and personal care requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
