Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: South East England, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in classroom settings
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individualised education plans for students
  • Assist with classroom management and student behaviour
  • Help students develop social and communication skills
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and performance

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and support techniques

Education:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Experience implementing educational plans for students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN legislation and best practises
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEN support or related field

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a classroom setting
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and external professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
