Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: BB46LR (Rossendale, Lancashire)

Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: Competitive (reflective of experience and responsibilities)

We are a specialist all‑through school for learners aged 3–19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including complex learning difficulties and associated conditions such as autism, Down Syndrome and physical disabilities. Our strong ethos is to inspire, learn, enjoy and achieve, and our team of specialist staff work collaboratively to ensure every learner makes meaningful progress.

The Role:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in their learning and wider development. This role is temporary to permanent, offering the opportunity to grow within a supportive and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high‑quality support to learners with special educational needs, in class, small group and 1:1 settings.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and adapted learning activities.
  • Support pupils’ personal, social and emotional development, encouraging engagement and independence.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and multi‑disciplinary staff to meet individual pupil needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience of working with children or young people, especially within SEN settings, is desirable.
  • Empathy, patience and excellent communication skills.
  • A flexible and positive approach to meeting varied pupil needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education/SEN support are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
